Wounded Warrior Project
MISSIONThe mission of Wounded Warrior Project® is to honor and empower wounded warriors.
PURPOSETo raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
HISTORYWounded Warrior Project (WWP) began when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. Thousands of wounded warriors and caregivers receive support each year through WWP programs designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment.
Wounded Warrior Project® is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization.
Impact a Hero
Imagine waking up everyday without one or more of your limbs, with severe burns or even being paralyzed. For hundreds of War on Terror wounded veterans these new physical realities will be with them for the rest of their lives.
Impact A Hero is a non-partisan 501(c) (3) organization, created to provide a simple mechanism for individuals and corporations to help provide emotional and financial support for our severely wounded /disabled War on Terror veterans and their families. Donations are tax-deductible.
Severely wounded and disabled War on Terror veterans have special challenges everyday. They must adjust to their new circumstances and they need our help. Emotionally our wounded heroes need to know that every American appreciates the sacrifices our wounded heroes have made. Financially our wounded heroes deserve every American’s support to help pay for everyday living expenses, not to mention their new special needs such as retrofitting a house for a wheelchair. Our programs include Impact A Hero Day at sporting and entertainment venues, Impact A Hero Emergency Financial Aid and Impact A Hero Mentoring.
Operation Care and Comfort
Historically, Americans have shown their support to our Troops serving in times of war in many ways. By writing letters, mailing care packages, welcome home events, or by showing support for a deployed service member or Veteran's family, Americans have opened up their hearts, homes, and wallets to show that they support those who serve. Operation: Care and Comfort (OCC), our all volunteer 501(c)(3) organization, is proud to continue this tradition of service. Our unique program allows caring Americans to donate their time, talent, and treasure to honor those currently serving our country and those who have served.

ANYSOLDIER, It's not just about supporting our soldiers, it's about meeting their basic needs and making sure that they have what is needed to survive while serving overseas:
OPERATION HELMET provides helmet upgrade kits free of charge to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as to those ordered to deploy in the near future. These helmet upgrades do three primary things:
- Protection - Shock-absorbing pads keep the helmet from slapping the skull when hit with blast forces, fragments, or being tumbled along the ground or inside a vehicle. Keeps blast-wave from transmitting flexure of the Kevlar shell directly to the skull via too-stiff pads. This decreases the chance of brain injury from IED's, bombs, RPG's, vehicle accidents, falls, etc.
- Comfort - If it is comfortable, it will stay on troop's head longer and more often.
- Stability - Keeps the helmet firmly on the head and out of the eyes.
- Durability – Doesn’t need to be replaced after one month of wear – hard to do when at a Combat Outpost or Forward Operating Base an eternity from a logistics supply point.
Adoptaplatoon is an organization that allows an individual, group, organization, company etc. to adopt and entire platoon during their deployment.
